Meet Matt Whitehurst, a Hearing Instrument Specialist with experience serving patients at our Sound Associates clinic in Seattle. He holds a BFA from TESC and an MFA from UWB, and he is currently working on his license with the International Hearing Society. Having worn hearing aids his entire life, Matt brings a unique, firsthand perspective to his role and is eager to help those in the exact same situation.

Matt is deeply committed to hearing health and fitting folks with custom hearing solutions tailored to each person’s lifestyle. His approach to fitting hearing aids and counseling on hearing health is strongly supported by his personal experience with hearing loss and his ability to clearly communicate. Matt effectively eases anxieties about rehabilitation and transitions into adopting new technology by making sure everything is easy to understand. He strives to ensure that every patient feels comfortable, supported, and confident throughout their hearing journey.

Recognition & Community Involvement

When he isn’t in the hearing clinic, Matt actively services local retirement communities and assisted living facilities. Through these outreach efforts, he works to ensure folks are hearing better and remain fully in the know about what new technology could help them. His dedication extends beyond the clinic walls to support seniors and individuals who may face mobility challenges in the greater community.

Personal Life & Philosophy

Outside of his job, Matt loves to read, write, and travel to places he hasn’t seen before. When he isn’t doing any of those, he enjoys playing video games and building connections with friends. His core philosophy is that hearing better means living easier, and that easier hearing keeps us sharp.
